Environmental Outlook

From the start, we’ve been providing environmentally sensitive, economically sensible solutions to our customers’ challenging applications. It's a sensible approach to grinding equipment--machines designed not simply to reduce the volume of waste and lower the landfill burden, but to deliver high quality finished products and generate opportunities, diverting material from landfills altogether. It's a design philosophy that emphasizes versatility and particle size control, allowing operators to produce a wide range of value added products with low operating costs. It's a different way of looking at waste materials, and it’s an outlook we’ve been helping our customers share for over 20 years.

The knowledge and equipment solutions we provide help our customers benefit the environment and their local economies for truly sustainable results. Since our company was founded, we’ve helped our customers divert millions of tons from landfill and create new markets for what they used to view as liabilities: colored mulch from pallet scrap, compost from yard waste, erosion control from agricultural residue, boiler fuel from sorted C & D, and that’s just the beginning. Our grind-and-color technology alone has helped convert countless tons of pallet scrap, tree care waste, and other low-grade wood fiber sources into highly profitable landscape mulch, opening a whole new industry to customers who had been paying to dispose of wood fiber or selling it at low profit margins. Because our customers can offer attractive mulch in a variety of colors, it also reduces demand for mulch from virgin cypress trees and other environmentally damaging sources of landscape products.

Our “Perfect In One Pass” grinding technology now helps customers find environmentally friendly, profitable uses for corn stover, asphalt shingle waste, and railroad ties, among an ever-growing list of raw materials. While helping our customers implement sustainable practices, we are also proud to practice what we preach: we heat our own factory with wood waste and agricultural residue that we process while field testing our grinding equipment. We see the benefits in our own drastically reduced utility costs, and we strive to help our customers experience similar benefits.
