Quality Technician

OVERALL OBJECTIVE

The Quality Technician tests and inspects product at various stages of the production process, collects and summarizes quality data to prioritize and direct improvement efforts and conducts problem solving efforts against known and developing quality issues by performing the following duties.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Interprets engineering drawings and specifications containing elements of mechanical, hydraulic and electrical systems.
  • Tests product at specified stages in the production process for mechanical, electrical and aesthetic product characteristics.
  • Conducts audits of finished product and presents findings to affected employees and supervision.
  • Schedules, performs and records results of inspection equipment calibration (e.g. calipers, micrometers) and torque tools.
  • Performs basic root cause analysis of quality issues found both within and outside of the manufacturing environment.
  • Works collaboratively with design and manufacturing personnel to resolve issues.
  • Measures components / parts using tools such as tape measures, micrometers, digital height gage, Romer/Faro arm (portable CCM), calipers, gage blocks, pin gages, protractors and other test and measurement equipment as required.
  • Develops and utilizes check sheets and data logs to collect data supporting quality engineering and problem-solving activities.
  • Prepares graphs and charts of data and communicates findings through e-mail and verbal communication to both individuals as well as small groups.
  • Validates parts and weldments.
  • Summarize inspection results in Initial Sample Inspection Reports (ISIR) and PPAP documentation.
  • Coordinates and plans the disposition of nonconforming product.
  • Assists in the development and delivery of quality-oriented training activities.

  • 2 – 4 years quality related experience – Preferred.
  • Experience in Microsoft Office Suite, PC-DMIS, and CAD++ Probing.

Facilities Custodian - Manufacturing (Part-Time)

OVERALL OBJECTIVE

The Janitor is responsible for carrying out the day-to-day upkeep and cleanliness of buildings and grounds.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assess and maintain maintenance needs for buildings and grounds. Arrange scheduling, finding resources for contract services and supplies to complete the repair.
  • Cleaning; including but not limited to sweeping floors, washing windows, cleaning breakrooms, bathrooms, refrigerators.
  • Remove waste, empty trash and recycling.
  • Assist in general cleanliness of buildings and grounds, including, but not limited to snow removal, weed control, etc.
  • Manage and maintain a job chart, documenting the work and task schedule and completion.
  • Assist in health and safety routine inspections, meetings, documentation and compliance.
  • Keep work areas clean and organized and take proper care of all equipment and facilities.
  • Provide a great level of attention to detail and focus on the given task.
  • Follow all safety rules and quality standards.
  • Other duties as deemed necessary by leadership.

OVERALL OBJECTIVE

The Welder | Fabricator is responsible for fitting and welding steel parts using a MIG welding process. They are responsible for assembling parts and may be asked to perform other miscellaneous tasks as assigned by his or her supervisor.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Read and interpret blueprints, plans or drawings to determine the specific welding requirements.
  • MIG weld steel components based on the specifications of the blueprints and/or drawings.
  • Set up welding machines based on the job at hand or using a specification.
  • Ensure work is done safely and meets quality standards.
  • Follow, create and help maintain welding specifications.
  • Place and remove steel from steel racks and shelving.
  • Cut and bend steel to specific sizes as stated on prints
  • Set up welding cells for serial production runs.
  • Operate machinery used in the production process or assist machine operators.
  • Assemble items as instructed. Read and interpret blueprints and/or drawings to determine the specific welding requirements.
  • Set up welding machines based on the job at hand or using a Welding Procedure Specification.
  • Keep work areas clean and organized and take proper care of all equipment and facilities.
  • Provide a great level of attention to detail and focus on the given task.
  • Follow all safety rules and quality standards
  • Work with team members to maximize productivity and efficiency
  • Lift raw materials, final products, and items packed for shipment, manually (up to 50 pounds), or using an overhead crane/hoist.
  • Other duties as deemed necessary by leadership.

The Finisher is responsible for ensuring final assembly on RotoChopper products/machines. They are responsible for assembling parts and may be asked to perform other miscellaneous tasks to ensure quality and efficiency. 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Read and interpret blueprints, plans or drawings to determine specific requirements. 
  • Ensure work is done safely and meets quality standards.  
  • Ensure hydraulic systems are installed correctly, including the settings of relief pressures. 
  • Ensure electrical systems are installed correctly. 
  • Ensure the correct belt tension and aligning of belt sheave. 
  • Ensure the correct settings of scraper blade. 
  • Assemble and install reversible fan. 
  • Ensure the correct settings of systems, including, but not limited to brakes, color system and sinking of flow meter. 
  • Ensure Customer Care Box is prepped, bolts are tightened, and machine is in proper working order. 
  • Operate machinery used in the production process or assist machine operators.  
  • Assemble items as instructed. Read and interpret blueprints and/or drawings to determine the specific welding requirements.  
  • Keep work areas clean and organized and take proper care of all equipment and facilities.  
  • Provide a great level of attention to detail and focus on the given task.  
  • Follow all safety rules and quality standards  
  • Work with team members to maximize productivity and efficiency  
  • Lift raw materials, final products, and items packed for shipment, manually (up to 50 pounds), or using an overhead crane/hoist. 
  • Other duties as deemed necessary by leadership.  

ABILITIES (INCLUDING PHYSICAL)

Machine Operator (Hiring 2 Robot Operators & 1 Press Brake Operator)

OVERALL OBJECTIVE

The Machine Operator is responsible for performing various tasks to set up, operate, monitor, troubleshoot and perform preventive maintenance on assigned machines at Rotochopper. The Machine Operator will also be responsible for inspecting parts to specifications and adjusting, or tool changes as necessary to maintain quality specifications. Set up and operation of a production machine in accordance with established procedures and guidelines. Read and interpret blueprints and diagrams to select, position and secure machinery. Adjust machine settings to complete tasks accurately, according to specifications and in a timely fashion.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Set up machines based on the job at hand or using procedure specifications.
  • Preform necessary pre-operation activities to ensure proper equipment startup and operation.
  • Read and interpret blueprints and/or drawings to determine the specific welding requirements.
  • Ensure work is done safely and meets quality standards. Follow, create and help maintain production expectations.
  • Assemble items within production process.
  • Keep work areas clean and organized and take proper care of all equipment and facilities.
  • Provide a great level of attention to detail and focus on the task.
  • Operate and monitor multiple pieces of equipment during operation to ensure quality production and minimal unplanned stops.
  • Work with team members to maximize productivity and efficiency.
  • Ensure high quality levels with minimal wasted time and materials.
  • Ensure a clean, safe and efficient work area, maintaining a work environment that encourages compliance with safety laws and employment guidelines.
  • Other duties as deemed necessary by leadership.
