Building Communities

We believe we are at our best when we can bring out the best in the communities around us. We show that by working together, there is no limit to what we can achieve. Our goals include maintaining the Rotochopper tradition of giving, supporting the communities and organizations we serve, and providing opportunities to Rotochopper employees to give back.

EPIC 2019

Program Mission

Rotochopper has a long tradition of community giving, service, and support. We thank the founders of Rotochopper, Fred Peltz of St. Martin, MN, and Vince Hundt of Coon Valley, WI, who started Rotochopper’s tradition of giving back. This long-standing tradition supports Rotochopper’s continued focus to give, serve, and support our local communities. We strive to grow our communities through our spirit of giving with the goals of enhancing the lives of those around us, supporting growth in central Minnesota and impacting communities touched by our employees, customers, and partners. We believe that building a stronger community enhances Rotochopper’s company mission of Keeping our Customers Happy, Our People Employed, and Our Company Profitable in St. Martin, MN.

Education

Prioritizing education and offering students rich learning experiences contributes to creating a more stable and engaging community. This effort influences the lives of current students and shapes the future workforce, as they represent upcoming employees, community members, and advocates for Central Minnesota businesses. Rotochopper fosters education through many different avenues including in-person tours of our facility, job shadowing Rotochopper team members, supporting scholarships with local schools, and sponsoring school events.

Rotochopper is proud to partner with a variety of schools, at both elementary and high school levels, in our local communities of Albany, Belgrade/Brooten/Elrosa, Melrose, Paynesville, ROCORI, and Sauk Centre to name a few. Rotochopper also works closely with students in higher education levels that attend the colleges and universities of St. Cloud Technical College, Alexandria Technical College, St. Cloud State University, and Ridgewater College.

“We are most grateful for the outstanding involvement and example that Rotochopper brings to our community and rural Minnesota. Ours is a better place to live, work and grow because of their leadership and participation. Their charitable footprint goes beyond the size of their financial generosity and their level of community involvement. It is found in the character and conviction of their employees, a sense of empathy with a focus on helping others. They embrace American ideals of philanthropy, seeking to share their ambitions and dreams, their success, with the individuals and families who form the nucleus of St. Martin, Paynesville and the surrounding area."

Community

Our Community Involvement commitments include working with organizations such as Stearns County Pheasants Forever, Ducks Unlimited, Roscoe Fun Day, Paynesville Area Community Foundation, and Lake Henry Legion Post 612. Rotochopper participates in Central Minnesota Manufacturers Association (CMMA) Central Minnesota Tour of Manufacturing during the month of October. Manufacturing companies in Central Minnesota provide the opportunity for the public to attend in-person and watch virtual tours of their facilities to learn about their business and the world of manufacturing.

Rotochopper remains committed to collaborating with United Way of Central Minnesota, the Initiative Foundation, and Greater St. Cloud Development Corporation, contributing to the enhancement of resources for the betterment of our local communities. We also have Rotochopper team members volunteer for the BIG partners Program, offering guidance and support to local high school students as they navigate their paths after graduation. We are excited to continue our work with community organizations to help grow our local communities.

Health & Well-Being

Beginning in 2022 and extending through 2023, a well-being program was implemented for the Rotochopper team. Through this renewed emphasis on well-being, our team is equipped with the necessary tools and resources to lead healthier lives and achieve their goals. We feel is it also important to support the Health & Well-Being of the surrounding communities. Throughout the years, Rotochopper has partnered with organizations that provide support to a wide variety of groups within the community. For example, the Christmas Care Drive provides a wide variety of items to those in need in our local community during the holiday season. Let’s Go Fishing is an organization that enables our elderly and youth to get out and go fishing on central Minnesota lakes in the summer through different excursions. Rotochopper is grateful to help and support the health and well-being of our local communities.

Employee & Internal Programs

Rotochopper has an Employee Gift Matching Program, established in 2006, which allows an employee to donate to a 501(c)(3) organization, with a donation matched by Rotochopper. With employees and our sales team throughout the United States, donations have been made to help organizations from coast to coast through this program. The Employee Gift Matching Program enables us to connect with groups that are close at heart to our employees.

In 2020, Rotochopper launched a new volunteer program for our employees. The program allows individual employees to utilize paid time off when volunteering for organizations of their choosing. We continue to see employee participation, volunteering with the Lions Club, local schools, and churches, assisting with fire department meals, county fairs, as mentors for the BIG Partners Program, and prepare meals for students so they have nourishment for the weekend. We look forward to growing in the years to come and learning more about our communities as our employees tell their volunteer stories.
