How to Change the Hose on Your Colorizer Color Pump

| Rotochopper University

Replacing the pump hose on your Rotochopper colorizer is a key part of routine maintenance to ensure reliable performance and consistent colorant application. This instructional guide outlines changing the hose on electric and hydraulic-driven color pumps.

The step-by-step instructions begin with safety precautions, including lockout/tagout and the use of proper PPE. Operators are then guided through isolating the pump, draining the lubricant, disconnecting suction and discharge lines, and removing hose clamps and brackets. The old hose is removed using the drive motor, and a new hose is installed with Bredel hose lubricant to ensure proper fit and function.

Once the new hose is in place, the guide details how to reassemble the brackets and clamps, refill the pump with lubricant, and reconnect the lines before restoring power. Visual aids are included to help identify components and ensure correct placement.

This guide is a helpful resource for any operator or maintenance technician working with Rotochopper colorizer systems and is designed to support safe, accurate hose replacement with minimal downtime.
