Rotochopper University: How to Reapply Hardface Weld to Rotor Rakers

In this Rotochopper University video, Rotochopper’s Director of Customer Service, Doug (Spike) Meyer will show you some basics on applying hardfacing weld, and will also demonstrate how to re-apply hardface weld to rotor rakers. Hardface weld, also called hardsurfacing, is a wear resilient weld that helps prolong the life of a component or surface. Hardface weld is often used in abrasive environments to protect the base steel from wear.
