Twenty five years ago, we launched a new way of looking at wood waste and other low grade materials.
Twenty five years ago, I drove from my home in Wisconsin to a small town in Central Minnesota to meet a man named Fred Peltz, who would soon become my business partner in a company now known as Rotochopper, Inc. Fred had called me when he saw my phone number on a piece of equipment I had sold to a customer close to his factory. He told me he could build a better machine.
And he did.
Twenty five years later, his passion for building better machines still defines what we do. Fred was truly an innovator in his approach to grinding equipment. His philosophy for grinding equipment was unique in its simplicity and clarity: start with the customer’s goals and design the simplest method for achieving those goals. What really set the Rotochopper brand apart from all other machines was a focus on end product quality. The ability to make a precise finished product at the lowest cost per ton or yard continues to set us apart today.
Tragically, in the Spring of 2000, Fred passed away suddenly following an accident. In the 15 years since, we have carried on his passion for innovation and commitment to customer success.
Over the last 25 years, Rotochopper “Perfect In One Pass” grinding technology has helped many customers create new opportunities for resources like wood waste, tear-off shingles, yard waste, and many other materials. But even more than the technical innovations, we are proud of our commitment to our customers with expert factory-direct support.
Twenty five years later, I am proud to be a co-founder of a company that is still creating unique opportunities for our customers.
